Hi, I'm
Kate Gale
I’m an author, speaker, celebrant, cancer survivor, wife, mum and proud Ballarat local.
For most of my life, I thought I knew how my story would unfold. Then, at just 27 years old, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Years later, my husband faced kidney cancer, and just when we thought we’d weathered the storm, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.
Those experiences changed me forever.
They taught me that life is fragile, resilience is built one difficult day at a time, and that even in our darkest moments, hope can still find a way in.
Today, I use my story to help others navigate theirs.
Whether I’m writing books that tell the truth about cancer and survival, standing on stage sharing the lessons life has taught me, celebrating a life as a funeral celebrant, or encouraging someone through social media, my purpose remains the same—to help people feel seen, understood and a little less alone.
I’m not interested in pretending life is always positive. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s unfair. Sometimes you’re angry. Sometimes you’re grateful. Often, you’re both at the same time.
